Got to get some healthy snacks.
Since surgery
I really haven't been back on track 100%.
I have a feeling the scale's gonna show it on the 15th.
Scared.

breakfast idea & knee update

Knee Update
Doctor says I don't need my crutch anymore! THANK GOD! :)
I can start riding the stationery bike at the gym. :)
Stitches were removed. :)
Continue PT. :)
Physical Therapist says I can start swimming after my cuts heal a little more.
I can start walking possibley in a couple of weeks if I feel up to it.
No strength training on the leg yet.
Absolutely no running yet. Duh!
Knee is bending nicely.
I am doing things that others normally can't do so soon.
SO, what does this all mean?
PT scheduled twice a week.
Gym, here I come...hopefully Monday.
Gonna ride the bike...3 ten minute intervals
and some upper body strength training.
Yay! Moving forward!

something wonderful

Physical Therapy tomorrow.
School starts tomorrow, and a regular routine.
A fresh start...everyday.
I'm so excited about 2011.
There are some things I want SO BAD & can't have.
I am trying to deal with that on a daily basis.
It is so not easy.
I want to run so bad, it hurts.
Dear God, heal me FAST, please.
Make my knee brand new.

Knee update & Weigh-In

I did some reading around the net and found quite a few sites (Kevin Sayers UltRunR Site, Suite101, Atlanta GA Sports Medicine, Knee Pain Causes, Treatment, Prevention, and Relief) that had recommended the surgery & most importantly proved that surgery is not the end of running. YES! I was so afraid that I may have messed up my chances of reaching my running (and health) goals. But after reading all the stories I am so freaking excited I can't contain myself. I guess you could see...I want it bad!
GREAT NEWS: I lost 6 pounds.
Wow! I was NOT expecting that. Since surgery I have had days when I ate VERY little and I have had days where I ate whatever...definitely not my regular healthy diet. Plus, NO exercise. WOW! Can't explain it, but will take it. Can't wait for the next weigh in. After my follow up on January 6th, I'm hoping to get cleared for bike riding, swimming, and strength training. So...
Here's to 2011!
Now, I need to look into getting a good brace for my knee. Any recommendations?
